Acer® Aspire Drivers For Windows® XP
Acer has recently uploaded
Acer Aspire drivers for Windows® XP on its FTP site. However, these drivers are not sufficient enough to make your laptop fully functional. The delay in the availability of Windows® drivers have occurred due to the Linux® preloaded version that Acer is selling currently.

Unavailability of drivers on the Acer website
What is available currently on the site is just a security patch for Windows® XP, ‘eNet management software’ and a few more. What is also available is a disk formatter. However, there are no signs of availability of audio, LAN, WLAN, chipset or card reader. Graphic drivers have also not been uploaded on this site. This might be happening due to the fact that Acer is currently selling on the Linux® pre-loaded version of the system. There is a chance that in the future when Acer launches its Windows® version, it might upload all the required drivers for the same. But there is no reason for you as a user or a potential buyer to not buy Acer Aspire® since, an Acer user has uploaded some real good drivers required to get Windows® XP running on your system. These drivers are required because while you load Windows® XP from the USB or DVD ROM, there is a fair chance that a few things might not load properly or work properly and might also show some errors while loading the same. This can happen due to the non-availability of proper drivers on the system.
Available Acer drivers from other websites
The different Acer Aspire® drivers for XP that are available are Acer preload security patch for Windows® XP, Flash BIOS v3304, Card reader driver, Liteon webcam driver, Realtek Audio driver, Intel chipset driver, SUYIN webcam driver, Intel LAN driver, Synaptics Touchpad driver, Atheros WLAN driver, Intel VGA driver, 3G module driver software and 3G connection manager.
All these drivers might work correctly if you install them along with the software rather than do it separately. Hence, proper care must be taken for the same. While a few of these drivers are available for direct download, a couple of them can be downloaded from the source website mentioned and linked on the Acer site. Some of these sites offer limited download speed and only single parallel download. This might be time consuming in terms of installation time.
Acer Aspire® drivers for Windows® XP once loaded on the system make it fully functional without causing major operating troubles. The only hiccup is if you have not installed the drivers properly. An Acer Aspire® system with a Windows® XP loaded on it is obviously better equipped than a Linux® version of the same.
